Welcome to the Bass Lake Photo Club – we’re glad you found us!!

The Bass Lake Photo Club’s home is in Holly Springs, NC and we welcome people with a love for photography to join us from all surrounding areas.

Prospective members are invited to attend our open meetings – on the second Tuesday of each month – to decide if our club is right for you. We know you will find a group of friendly, helpful, and supportive photographers there!

Edit Yourself – How To Make Your Own Cinemagraphs by Scott Markowitz

Cinemagraphs are still photographs in which a minor and repeated movement occurs, forming a video clip.
I’ll be talking about how, with just a little planning, you can create stunning cinemagraphs with the photography equipment that you already have.
There will be a demonstration of how to setup a shoot, and how all the post-processing is done to be able to create a variety of different cinemagraphs.
In addition, I’ll share an introduction to Affinity Photo and Final Cut Pro- The tools I use myself everyday to work faster and easier in a demanding agency environment.

Bio:
Co-Creator and Lead Editor for the Food Network’s Dinner:Impossible and Restaurant Impossible, Scott Markowitz is a TV/Film editor and Visual Effects Artist with over 20 years. 3 years ago, Scott launched The Video Crush Podcast to help employeepreneurs everywhere escape their cubicle prisons. Today, he combines the lessons learned in a career of TV and Film to empower you with the skills to “Edit Yourself.”
In addition to being a diesel-powered mecha-motivator, Scott is the current Director Of Post Production for Contrast Creative Agency in Cary.

2017 Calendar

Members are encouraged to submit images each month on a flash drive or send them to our email page basslakephotoclub@gmail.com to be archived into our calendar  gallery in which photos will be selected and printed on our calendar at the end of the year. Each member who is selected will be recognized for each of their photos.

Please submit digital JPEG’s with a horizontal dimension of 1280 pixels and/or vertical dimension of 1024 pixels, 72 DPI, sRGB color space. Filenames should include the the photographer’s first and last names, for example: “First Lastname.jpg”.
